This cartoon was made for troops with newly issued M16’s in Vietnam. It was needed, as the troops were originally misinformed and told that the rifles didnt require maintenance like lubrication or cleaning. Once the military finally figured out that this was not true, they finally started issuing cleaning kits and showed the troops the proper maintenance of the weapon.
